head in a box

I couldn't pass up the chance to post this..

On a totally different subject...
I'm thinking about moving the blog.

I've been told that I might be over-reacting a bit.  I'm referring to a recent comment/ question about Amos left on one of my youtube video's.  It totally creeped me out and made me want to run back over to Wordpress so that I can password protect my posts again.  The Mama bear in me has returned..

For now, I've deleted all my videos from youtube and am looking into just inviting a small number of people to view them in the future, possibly through a different video website.  If I do decide to move again, I'll give a little bit of warning.

Might I inquire who's still out there reading?

I think I may hear crickets chirping.

Please take a minute to say hello... via post or email.   It'll help me get an idea of how many I will be including in an email once I make the switch.

What an adorable photo! The box is always the best toy... ;)

I'm so sorry that happened with the video. I would have done exactly as you did, and plan to do. You cannot be too careful when it comes to your child's safety, dignity or innocence.

I do love reading your blog. You have such a lovely family, and your outlook is fresh, positive and inspiring. Thanks for sharing!

I'm here! I don't get to check in often but I try to once a week or so to see what is new. Hmm, totally understand why you might want to move your posts..better to be safe.

I check in on you guys on a regular basis. If you feel more comfortable somewhere else, than do what is best for you guys. I am particular too about what I post on the YouTube. I got a little creeped out recently myself when I noticed that a bathtime video had about 356 views!!!! I don't even know that many people! Can't you protect the viewers here on this blog too though? I thought I remembered seeing that feature....Anyway, if you move, let me know! Do what feels right Mamma Bear!

I think I've left a comment before. I found your blog just before you adopted Amos. My husband and I are still on a waiting list for Vietnam, but in the meantime, are pursuing adoption through foster care.

I'm still here, though I admit to reading and not commenting most of the time. Sorry to hear that you got a crazy comment... that sort of thing is never fun.

I have your blog on my google reader, so read whenever you post something new. I don't view youtube videos tho (on any blog, not just yours) -- that's just a quirk of mine, and I really have no explanation why I don't click on them. I totally understand wanting to password protect stuff related to your kiddo -- my rule of thumb is: if it's not something I would go distribute to strangers at the local mall, it's not something you'll find on my public blog. So, no videos or pics of my kiddo available to the general public online.

I'm still here too. Totally understand what you are saying about the privacy thing - I think about it with my blog too, think I really should be more restrictive. I've never had any creepy comments, if I did I think I'd lock things down pretty quickly too. Would love to follow you when/if you move!

I adopted my daughter from Kazakhstan and my son from Vietnam. I believe I found your site through CHI. I check in to read your site every now and then. Amos is adorable! I am in the process of moving my site to wordpress (so I can password) and I definitely understand that mama bear instinct!

I'm still here too =)

Unfortunately the web is always a worry with privacy. But the connections we all have to like minded people are too valuable to leave altogether, I guess.

I definately hear crickets at my blog!!

Hi Jenn, we check in occasionally. I can appreciate your hesitation. I have always felt protective of my boys on the internet. Brent says I am just out of touch, probably am.

I have been super busy lately, leaving no time to post on my own blog let alone read others, but I am here. Glad I caught this post. I would be sad if you suddenly disappeared. Keep me in the loop if you do.
